If you like the "Parade Era" this is right up that alley... Very true. You brought up a memory I had almost forgotten about. When I first bought the "Parade" album when it first came out, I got pissed and said...."Dammitt, he's took that classical shit from The Family and went even further with it! What the fuck is wrong with his ass!" Andy is a four letter word.

Before it was released, everyone knew The Time had broken up so we were thinking this group was maybe their replacement since The Family had some of The Time members in it. When I got that album home and heard that classical shit on it, I wanted to throw it up against the wall and break it in as many pieces as I could.
. . [Edited 1/18/07 15:56pm] I know you aren't the biggest fan of Clare Fischer. You are so right. So many R&B singers were making weak shit like Shitney Houston trying to appeal to a pop audience during those years and I was just aching for some hard funk. I would sit and look forward to a new Prince album because I just knew that at least he was gonna give me some satisfaction. Then here he comes with a fucking orchestra on his record sounding like some shit my grandmother would listen to. I was mad as hell. . . [Edited 1/19/07 15:34pm] Andy is a four letter word.

IMO one of the great Prince associated albums. Prince's songs and music are incredible and I remain of fan of St Paul's produced effort. I remember at the time being captivated by the inner sleeve photography and intrigued by the fact that Prince actually took a few of the photos himself. Great record.

Sounds like a great album from what you're all saying.
Can someone please write the tracklist for me to ponder? I'll have 2 buy it when I get back to civilisation.

America She's Always In My Hair High Fashion Mutiny Screams of Passion A Love Bizarre Toy Box Raspberry Beret Hello The Ladder That would have been fared much better than ATWIAD and been better for his career IMO. Forgot "Bizarre" edit.... [Edited 1/16/07 7:45am] But aren't you forgetting "NCTY" and "condition of the heart", "Tamborine" and "pop life"? If anything with the song poplife, he should have called it PUB life, It'd have been a big hit in ol' England

I love this album....the whole thing, particularly the vocal tracks...
and their version of "Nothing Compares 2 U" is the best in my opinion. Gonna go spin it right now...

Any of these coices for an lp are better than ATWIAD, plus either of these songs still could have turned up as classic, kick ass B-sides like we used to bet back then!! I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!
