I remember seeing this Soul Train episode in early 1983 This performance gave me a few "wet dreams" of my own
What's funny is,when Don Cornelius interviewed them,Vanity tried to deny that Prince had anything to do with their album.Back in these days,it was hilarous seeing Prince's proteges trying to downplay his contribution to their music, lol.

This song sounds great on the strip club scene in Beverley Hills Cop (no man I am being serious, ain't a little weird to have a big jacket on in June, "Give me cat baby!!!""), Eddie Murphy always plugged funky stuff in his early movies, like Sylvester's do you wanna funk in Trading Places (Get the FUCK out!!!). Yea the Time had to say the same shit on bandstand, theyre from Minneapolis and di all their own music. (Like in this clip, Prince is not to be mentioned let alone seen (or Jamie) 17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince

It's funny listening to all the catcalls the ladies got THROUGHOUT the performance. I don't even hear that much hooping and hollering when I'm visiting the stripclub! Vanity had 'em losing their minds . Never let anyone put u in their little box...hell, u might start suffocating!

(Like in this clip, Prince is not to be mentioned let alone seen (or Jamie) Plus I think Eddie Murphy used to date Vanity briefly too. Hmmm do you think it was because she was hot or because Murphy was such a huge Prince fan in an indirect way he was sleeping with Prince by her after she was with him??? I think I read that there was a theory that rock stars love to pass along groupies and all want to sleep with the women that slept with their favorite rock stars as a way of being with the men they admired without being with them. Crazy I know! But it probably was just because Vanity was hot. Hmmm, but Murphy WAS a huge Prince fan and wanted to trade places with him in the eighties.....

Actually, it was Vanity's sister, Patricia, who used to date Eddie. I remember seeing them on Arsino Hall show and at the time, Eddie asked Vanity about being arrested, and she had called Eddie to get her out of jail. And her sister came down there with Eddie. Vanity explained that her sister was with Eddie. Genius is born, not made. Prince is a Genius. No question. RIP Legend.
