Noon Rendezvous

God I love this song. love

Shame he didn't keep it for himself really, I think it's easily one of the best ballads he's given away to another artist...saying that though, it wouldn't have really fit in on either Purple Rain or ATWIAD.

"...your words they intoxicate meeee" mushy

I really like Prince´s rehearsal version , the one that´s at least 14 minutes long. He played it between 1983 and 84.

I've mentioned this masterpiece so many times but nobody seems to co-sign. Glad somebody else likes this 1984 birthday rehearsal performance!

I'll cosign! I love this song. I like Sheila's version best. The vocals are more subtle, and I think that works better with this song. And the line "I've been wondering what to wear" really only works with a woman. I'm surprised this song has never been remade and released as a single.
And it's funny that this song got mentioned now, because I've been listening to Sheila's live version (Miami, Purple Rain tour) a lot lately--I love the "Sitting in a cafe, waiting for my baby" part. I really wish there had been an official extended version of this song released.
