I'm just waiting for all of us to be labeled "haters" () but I'm not down with them either, for several reasons (some already stated):

--they cannot sing. I have seen/heard them live twice as well as on various TV appearances. Most of the time they are flat/off key. I've heard worse, but they sing about as well as Carmen or Apollonia.

--I'll admit that they are better dancers than singers, but that's not saying much. I find their frenetic dancing distracting, and they are usually out of sync. (Although, perhaps this is the choreographer's fault?)

--they are nothing more than gimmicks and Prince does not need more gimmicks. He has enough: Cuban heels, , the color purple...

--I despise that they allow themselves to be referred to collectively as The Twinz instead of by their names--it makes it seem that they do not have their own identities or personalities but can only exist as half of a whole. But then again, taken individually they would be even less remarkable.

--before they "made it big" with Prince, their website used to say it was their ultimate dream to work with Michael Jackson. They did not mention Prince's music as an influence even though they listed Stevie, MJ, etc. Now all of a sudden they're his #1 cheerleaders. They are obviously not talented enough to make it in Hollywood on their own so they are riding P's coat tails. Without his name attached no one would look twice at them (no pun intended).

And to go along with what dustysgirl & PleasurePrinciple were saying...I think another difference between Maya & Nandy and Cat is that imho, The Twinz are just looking for a way to break into the biz--they wouldn't have cared whether it was with Prince, Justin, MJ, whomever... But Cat was a Prince fan and knew his music before they worked together. You can see that she really enjoyed being on stage and felt the music. (Didn't Cat do her own choreography, as well?) The Twinz learned the choreography but there is no flava. (I feel that way about the band, too; but that's a whole other thread...)

I don't think they're so ugly. I just don't get their point. The whole "Twinz" thing is cheesy, IMO. They can sell action figures that look like the Bratz dolls along with all those damn posters... :LOL:

If they try to come out with their own album, it would be like "The Pips" having done that. Who would care at this point? They've made their name as "Prince's Backup Chicks".

After seeing them live... eh I can take them or leave them. They are by no means ugly. They can dance. But they are by no means a singing power duo.

That being said as long as they stay in the background doing vocals I really don't care one way or another.

Their photographs look a little odd sometimes, but they're quite pretty in person.

Yikes...their speaking skills are more cringe-worthy than their off-key singing. That clip was painful to the ears.
