Mazarati RIP Ah, the glory days. I reminisce sometimes. I do. I was in my 20's when Funk-Rock was in its infancy. Funkadelic started it all--a heavy guitar sound laid down on a funk foundation…then came the Minneapolis sound. Remember those days? Big hair and spandex. Singers in lingerie. The Family. Purple Rain the Movie. Purple Rain the Concert. Prince Mania. BrownMark. Terry Casey. Mazerati. Wait.
Whatever happened to Mazerati? Read more www.trueprincestories.com

I miss those days too...that was the soundtrack of my teenage days...Prince & The Revolution, Sheila E., Jesse Johnson, The Time, Mazarati, SOS Band, Alexander O´Neal, Midnight Star, Full Force, the Jheri curls, the positive message in the music, great lyrics, sexy and romantic.
I managed to get hold of some old vinyl the other day that I no longer had in my household, some Jody Watley stuff produced by André Cymone, two Jesse Johnson albums, SOS Band´s Just The Way You Like It album etc... Brought back good memories. Then again, it made me feel really old. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

When large corparations determine who is worthy of being a star, they choose folks who are easy on the eyes not who has the most talent. I remember reading Ebony in 1986 saying that Prince was an irresponisble role model by no other by Dr. Alvin Possaint (The Cosby Show) for being so sexually graphic in the begining of the AIDS era when it was essentially a gay diease. We need to celebrate good black music and don't listen to whom clear channel annoits as 'stars'.

I recently got the wonderful gift of a shitload of Prince boots and associated music....and on one of the CDs, Mazarati's "100 mph" was on it....brought back such cool memories of hangin' out with the fellas, literally doin' 100 going to the campus bars in Syracuse during my first tour in the service..... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.
(George Eliot) the video for the above... http://www.youtube.com/wa...re=related

OOOh lord. I couldn't agree more... but not for long (music sucking). There's a new Minneapolis sound that's about to knock the world on it's ass. Tune into Joe Kelley on Monday and you'll see what I mean. And speaking of Mazarati, Morris Hayes will be on it as well! ScarletteP Nasty girls, dance, dance, DANCE!
