Last night was great. I went to the Anthony Hamilton show just to see Tamar. I'm very glad that I did. Although I need a better camera, I still enjoyed taking my own personal photos of the show.

Most of the concert attendees did not know who Tamar is. The lady who sat next to my husband asked if she was one of the Braxton sisters. We had to give her an intro to Tamar. When we said that Tamar is a Prince protege, she asked us if Tamar had any talent, because that has not been the case with some previous Prince proteges. We assured that this lady has talent.

Tamar took the stage with her backup singers/dancers, no band. I was so busy taking pics that I didn't pay attention to the set list, so maybe someone can give me a hand with that. I do remember when "A Man Loves a Woman". I was somewhat disappointed that she didn't sing any of the Prince collaborations (at least that I'm aware of). This was not the audience for "Red-Headed Step-Child" (my husband's favorite), but it was perfect for "Beautiful, Loved, and Blessed" (my favorite) and "Holla and Shout".

They performed well, but I think it would have been better with a band, or maybe I'm just spoiled that way.

Mint Condition was Ok and I was very impressed with Anthony Hamilton. I really dig his vibe and he put on a very good show.

The official After party was at the Velvet Room. We went there immediately after the show. The place was packed. My husband and I excused and side stepped our way to the back of the club by the VIP room where we waited and waited and waited and waited for the guests of honor to show up. My husband had met Raymond Allmon, the promoter of the concert, at the River Center when we were trying to find out where the after party was going be.

After a while, Raymond showed up at the club. We asked when the artists were coming and were told they were on their way. Soon afterward, Raymond allowed my husband and I to be admitted into the VIP room. I was thinking that no artists would show up, but right before the club closed, Tamar and her girls came through the back door of the VIP room. My husband immediately introduced himself to her and then I did the same.

We had a brief conversation with Tamar. Let me tell you guys something. Tamar has a very beautiful spirit. She is very down to earth and very pleasant. Of course, Blake, my husband, had to cut to the chase and ask about Prince. Tamar said that Prince has a good heart and was a pleasure to work with. She said that she had not talked to Prince for a good while, but finally got to speak with him a few weeks ago. Blake asked her why she was not listed in the Vegas lineup. She said that she was not asked, but things are really looking up for her. She also said that she will tell her story in a magazine (I don't remember which one), and the article will be coming out in a few months. So keep your eyes open for the article.

Since the club was closing (clubs have to close at 2 AM in our East Baton Rouge Parish) everyone was clearing out of the club. We saw Tamar and crew's van backing out and we exchanged goodbye waves.

Tamar is also scheduled to sing the National Athem at the Southern University homecoming game tonight. I won't be at the game, but those who are there will get a nice treat.

Hmmm...Wouldn't you think that Prince being the control freak he is would have had Tamar sign a confidentiality agreement? If she does spill the details it will be shocking.

Like the woman had to ask if Tamar was talented because doesn't always back the most talented when it comes to females.
