Mark is singin' his ass off on this! I gots to pick this one up! Seems like he's doing a lot of mid-tempo and ballads, though. What's up with that? He's a bass player. Where's the funk?  | |

Yes, it is true Brown Mark has a special gift for F.U.N.K. which is Found Under,not Kept...I say this because he seems to know what works but rather than put it out he retreated all these years to production..only! Fortunately, he's back with some pleasure to please and applouse is plausible:) I won't pick any sinlge song here but there is enough music here to pick her up, drive her there...  | |

I actually purchased this CD a couple of months ago after I realized Brown Mark had a newer CD. It is actually pretty good. Though Kip Blackshire is a featured vocalist on a couple of songs including the one called "It's Been A While" which is playing on Brown Mark's Myspace site, Brown Marks vocals are surprisingling good. I say surprisingly because I suppose we never got to really hear him while with Prince and I never purchased his other solo projects. There is definitely some funk and R&B going on and there is even some rap in Spanish ( by another band member), and there's a little pop happening slightly as well.
I would recommend the album but I'm willing to bet hearing it live would just be Killa Krazy! Just from the album alone, one can tell this is a "real" band. The album is worth purchasing IMO. I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin. | |

I'd love some new stuff from Andre but not if it's going to be an album full of midtempo music and ballads. That's the same shit everyone else is putting out these days.
