Has anyone purchased any of the Altru products?

I see the Altru line for sale on the Nordstrom website, so I thought I'd head over this weekend and check the stuff out.

http://shop.nordstrom.com...bo=6001822

It's pretty expensive (for my home fragrance budget anyway) but the incense scroll is so pretty! I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around some of the scents, so I think I'd better smell them before I buy. Does anyone have a review?

Yeah, I'm sad the candles are so expensive, especially since the Masala Chai scent sounds heavenly! If they offered it the form of the $15 incense, I would go for it.

Well, if Mani sells a lot of candles, she won't need as much money from Prince in the divorce. Right? wink

WOW..they look wonderful and I love nice things but that is just a bit out of my range. I just can't justify that kind of money for a little candle.

Are there other candles that cost that much?
Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion now accepted was once eccentric.

They are available online at this time but according to her myspace blog they're not available in the store until later this month. I might purchase when they're in the store (I love home fragrances) but like you said I want to smell them first.
All the other kids would luv2luvya...but you're my little private joy

Yay! Mani added me as her "friend". I really like her page. I think I'll finally get to know more about this "mystery" lady.

actually it's just plain ol' Prince that signed up as a friend -- not the other I mentioned with the 3121 attached ... so, it's actually the "official" one

I'm not sure why she wouldn't want the public to hear about her charity work, so maybe she is trying to keep her other blogs and comments private. Comments have to be approved before they are posted also. I think ths is smart, because I'm sure someone would try to post something inappropriate about the divorce, or other personal matters. I can't believe some of the comments on Prince's page! Some are downright embarassing.

Prince 3121 is a fan's account, not the official Prince myspace.

because some are not really interested in what shes doing but just there to be a fly on the wall or a reporter not focusing on the products

im shocked she even allowed p fans especially since some smile on her page then come stab her on another site neutral

I was wondering if she would even add me, becasue P is in my top friends. I guess it's her decision who she wants to see her page. I agree that she probaby doesn't want people to read her blogs, find out what she's up to, and use it to stir up trouble and speculation.

I'm not against Mani in any way, but I find this absolutely pathetic. I sell fragrance oils, essential oils and perfumes. There are certain attars, essential oils and perfumes that are expensive because they require a large quantity of the plant, flower, bark, etc. to make. But a fragrance oil is another story. Nothing justifies the price tag here.

I was in Saks Fifth Avenue not too long ago and they had a fragrance oil and bamboo stick set for around $50. It's ridiculous. Buying stuff like that from those stores are for people who have too much money and don't feel good about themselves unless they're walking out the front door with that store's name on the bag.

Mani would sell far more if she moderately priced it and sold it from boutiques. She would make way more profit and enough to do her charity work. But here she will only sell a few. They went the way of Chaka's Chocolates - into oblivion. No one is interested in spending that amount of money when they can get it for way less.

i agree on the pricing. but the fact that she chose nordstroms tells us the average consumer is obviously not her target market.

Yeah, I actually went into a Nordstrom yesterday to see if they had Altru (Which they didn't mad ). Let me tell you, I haven't been in Norstrom for a LONG time, and I can't even remember the last time I bought something there. I wouldn't have gone yesterday if it weren't for the fact that I wanted to smell the Altru products.

Too bad she isn't selling it through Macy's home...
