These new Mani pic threads keep popping up all the time. She seems to be at a different celebrity event every week. The latest pics are of her at the Film Life awards. I remember seeing other pics of her at film festivals and parties. Does she seem a little fame hungry to anyone else or is it just me?

Mayte was fame hungry to me, but I knew that from the beginning with the belly dancing and all of that. I expected her to act the way she did after she and Prince split, because the desire for fame/celebrity seemed to have been implanted in her from childhood. So, the Tommy Lee reality thing, magazine spreads, SiTV and now films are of no shock.

However, Mani didn't seem to come from a fame-seeking/celebrity wannabe background. I thought she was more behind-the-scenes business oriented. What do you all think?

Mani has been working on a documentary (In a perfect world) that supports her non profit organization. If I remember correctly, the documentary was previewed at Sundance. SO it only makes sense to market or get the word out by hitting the movie themed events. Again, it's a documentary, not anything like Nip/Tuck.

what the hell are you talking about? mayte had beena professional dancer, of sorts, since she was a child. Fame hungry? prince was virgin hungry, and her mother pimped her out.

I dont think Mani is fame hungry.

Thanks for the info preciosa863. I was not aware that she was working on a documentary. That explains the film festivals. I still think she's fame hungry, but now I can at least see a connection to some of the event appearances.

It seemed that Mani was always background but now her REAL NATURE CAME OUT...
I always thought she's a fake person and I wasnt wrong. She cant fool anybody with her "sainthood"....
A question is popping in my mind: isnt her fame hunger that Prince didnt satisfied the REAL reason of the divorce? When she saw that Prince wasnt giving her what she craved she left her and now we see the results... She is RIDICULOUS ....

Lilith, I am with you on this. I never had any suspicions about Mani in the beginning. I was actually happy that Prince seemed to had found someone that didn't seek fame or the limelight. Of course, she was married to one of the biggest rock stars of all time, but still she seemed a bit more grounded than most (not all) of his previous women - al least those whom we knew about. But since this whole separation thing, she is coming off a little fake to me.

What credentials does she have to be a presenter at the Film Life awards. How was she introduced? How can she afford to jet set around the country in her tailored clothes? What is the source of her income - Gamillah? Or is she still living off the husband she is in the process of divorcing? I don't know, it is all appearing a bit contrived to me. But I'm on the outside looking in, so what do I know.

I think they're both fame hungry. Would they be showing up at events like that if they were not? Would they try to make it somehow if they were not?

They maybe don't want to be known as Prince's ex-wives but as someone who can make it. Now, the question is known as what. In my opinion, they'll be known as his ex-wives before anything else because that's how they started.

After saying that, I think there is nothing wrong with that. If I were in this situation, I would probably try too.
