Why haven't there been any other male associates that have great careers besides the Time? All of the associates that have done things no matter how minor have been women? I know that Prince digs the ladies , but wonder why more of his male friends have not had great careers ?

Andre Cymone could have been a bigger star but at the time of his solo commercial peak unfortunately was Prince's commercial peak as well. Record companies were only interested in him being a Prince clone, Andre said basically "no" and there went his solo career.Fortunately for him, he had much success with Jody Whatley.

St.Paul left the Family and without Prince's pull, he didn't hit it off too big neither.

I think that deep down,Prince may have been worried that a male act could possibly become a threat to him like the Time were during the 1999 Triple Threat Tour.I'm sure thatlast comment will piss somebody off but oh well

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have done alright for themselves

So has Jesse Johnson!!!!! I've said it a BILLION TIMES on the org: Jesse is the ONLY guitarist that will light a fire under Prince's ass & BURN HIM!!!! Just that Prince is the better "showman" and songwriter!!!!!

And at the end of the day, you have to give them ALL credit for stepping out of the "purple shadow" whether they come back or not (Jimmy Jam & Terry, Jesse, Andre and ESPECIALLY Dez)!!!!!
