I saw it. Dayton, Ohio, early 84 I believe it was.
I had just started to get into Prince so I was excited about seeing Dez but sorry...for the life of me, I cannot remember anything that was played. I do remember the style being very rock & roll but that's it!

In 1984? Probably just a thirty minute version of "Modernaire".

"modernaire" has got to be the worst song ever recorded...
it always tripped me out that they didn't use a better dez song in the movie... or just maybe featured him doing some instrumental guitar jamming... it just kinda left the movie feeling a little bit unrealistic to me, when billy's like "i got 3 acts, and i don't need 4"... to me, it always seemed logical to just get rid of dez... who really actually digs that song..? especially over anything played by prince or the time... Yeah Billy choosing Dez and "Modernaire" above Prince & Revolution with their "Purple Rain" material always seemed a strange choice.
I wonder if he ditched Apollonia 6 or Dez after the film ended?
