I'm confused...has Tamar's CD been officially cancelled? Couldn't Prince simply find another distributor? Why can't Tamar sell it on her website? Whatever happened to NPG Records? It's hard to believe that Tamar can't get her CD out there!

She was dropped from the Universal label. It's been reported they (Universal) did not like the album. Nothing P can do about that. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'd like to have some info on what happened with Tamar, but I don't so I won't speculate.
He don't look bad to me, unless I make all kinds of assumptions and judgements. no reason to call the woman an air head, when you DO NOT know her. "not a fan" yeah...ok

She was dropped but if she was under Prince, he should own the rights to it. So he should be abl e to shop it around, or release it indie. PRINCE: Always and Forever

After all,I thought he was an "independent" artist The only thing I can think of is,perhaps Tamar wants to leave and make it on her own without his help?

He may be an independant artist when he's releasing albums like TRC. His die hard fans from 20+ years in the business will buy his obscure releases. But as you have seen his more commercial sounding albums (Emancipation, 3121, Rave) - all been tied into distribution deals with a big name record labels. She does not have the clout or the years in the business, or the bankroll to do that yet. She does not have a big enough fan base to tour on her own. Were it not for P featuring her in the mini tour he did with her the vast majority of people who post on this forum would not even know who she is. But maybe that's what's she going to strive to do now... be an independant artist. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think she just needs some space between all the gossip, criticism and pointing fingers she received during the announcement of his divorce. As far as I'm concerned, it was a professional working relationship, and unless I saw more than that and I didn't, then I won't accept it as nothing more than that, like they say "gossip is for those with small minds". She has an amazing and strong voice, and when she finds the time promote herself on her own, then she will be just fine, and she will have fans as she does have a lot already. Whether they started out as being fans because of Prince, the point is, she has fans that like her music. No one is going to like everybody, and that's ok, but with her voice, she will definitely have a following.
Right now I think it's good that she is keeping quiet and allowing some room in between all that recently happened. When she's ready, then her fans will know, because honestly I don't think she's losing any sleep over who doesn't like her.

Until it's confirmed otherwise, I'll say it was a professional relationship. But hear this, ladies: MEN REALLY LIKE WOMEN! It's a biological predisposition that's not activated at will. Most of the time, sex is the furthest thing from our thoughts. Then some vixen bumps into you on the L. Taraval and your psyche switches to lust mode. If you meet our criteria for beauty, it's virtually impossible for us to resist you. Generally, the only thing keeping a man reserved and respectful toward a woman -- is the woman! If she lets it be known up front that she's all about business, the guy will generally reciprocate. But if she goes into it sitting on his lap and joking about sex with him.....watch out! It astounds me how women look for this nobility in men that doesn't exist! I'm not saying they fooled around, but it's definitely possible...and with Prince, highly probable!

Unfortunately, Prince has done this before with other musicians.(change his mind) At least she was in the spotlight with Prince. It's too bad he no longer seems to be helping her. Hope the Twinz don't think they'll be around forever. [Edited 9/16/06 11:19am]
