James Brown,Michael jackson, and Prince "the holy trinity" This would be the greatest show ever if these three icons could get themselves together and funkrock it out. these three artist are still living and I believe are a holy trinity for real. I saw a clip of these three in the 80's when prince was still rough around the edges and michael too and james brown askes michael jackson to come on stage and do somethin for the people and then michael jackson insist that prince come stage showing respect for the purple one. Its incredible to see. This would be an iconic moment in history to see these three men do there thing together
in one show records would fly of the shelf.

James Brown raised both of them MJ and Prince thats why they call him the godfather. I bet if u asked either one of them they would have to credit much of their sucsess to James Brown. James Brown is Like the Mohammed Ali of R&B soul funk music and dance. All the moves and slick stage movement is all JB sure MJ and Prince developed and mastered their own style, but they are branches of JB. MJ i believed took more to the dance side of JB and accelerated with it . Where Prince accelerated with the musicianship of the JB camp. This is why I call them the holy trinity.

As far as "funk", it would go like this IMO:
A Holy Quartet: James Brown Sly & The Family Stone George Clinton/Parliament/Funkadelic Prince MJ is/was a terrific performer no doubt, but he doesn't even come close when it comes to raw funk. [Edited 8/10/06 22:55pm] Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

If you look at the "Old School Artist that Prince has befriended himself with you will see one common thing the are were part of or led musically tight bands, ie James Brown, Maceo, Miles Davis, George Clinton. Mike is an entertainer he has that from Mister Brown, Give Prince the musicianship. For my Money music could not be what it is today without James Brown. Look at everything his music has influenced. Long Live the Godfather!!!!!
