I think housequake has a pic of her w/ an article where she talks about how she's clean now(2004? 2003? 1999?). She and Prince have no....I mean no similar features. She definitely looks like she has had a tough life. | |

She's not the one who had a copyright court feud with Prince. It was another half sister, Lorna, who is the sister of Sharon. I think that was the father's first children before he married Prince's mom. I may be a bit nosy, but were his parents married when Prince was born? Not that it matters, but I just wondered why they always referred to his mom in her name "Shaw" and not "Nelson." |

Now I do have a problem with him not taking those boys from her. That is most fucked up. He didn't go to either of his parents' funerals. That's jacked up too. You aren't in his family so how can you have a problem with anything concerning his family? And why is he obligated to take her children? He cant just come take some children just because he is Prince. Perhaps she wasnt ready to give them to Prince even if he was trying to get them. There is a legal process at the very least that would have been dealt with. What the hell is Prince going to do with two traumatized kids when he has to travel around the world constantly and be in the studio or at a gig all night for months at a time? Ridiculous. There are most likely religious reasons behind not attending funerals. Not my personal belief, but I have family who can't attend funerals because of their faith (JW). I respect that. Doesn't mean they grieve any less. that AND perhaps him being the celebrity that he is...maybe he didn't want to turn his mom's funeral into a media spectical. There were also fans here who were contemplating going to the funeral! I mean it was a sincere gesture by those who suggested it but....whoa! Lorna was the half sister of Prince's who tried to sue him for his song, "U Got the Look." She was sore at Prince because she wrote a song called "Something's Cooking in This Book", and the lyric in Prince's song "U Got the Look" read, "Sho nuff do be cookin in my book." Sounds like Lorna was trying to capitalize on Prince's popularity and money, and was trying to make an easy buck off him.   RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you. | |
