If Larry Graham played rock or heavy metal would his get the props he deserves?

If Larry Graham played hard rock or heavy metal, and killed the bass like in his instructional DVD on youtube.com would he get his props and be recognized by publications and entities like Rolling Stone, Blender, Spin, MTV, and the music world at large. In my opinion, he would be heralded as an innovator of virtuosity like Jimi Hendrix on guitar etc.

Have y'all MISSED SOMETHING here???? Larry Graham, with his band Graham Central Station, fused FUNK, ROCK, and a little bit of SPIRITUALITY in his music. It not only made you GROOVE, but there was a MESSAGE!!!!! Something that's DEFINITELY MISSING IN 90% OF THE BULLS**T ON THE RADIO & ON TV TODAY!!!!! As much as people love to CLOWN Larry Graham, he ALREADY GOT PROPS HERE!!!!!

That is a really good point. At the moment, my favorite song is "Today" from his 1974 album "Release Yourself". I really like this song because from beginning to end, the music along with the lyrics are HEAVY.
