This thread reminded me--I just read in the NY Times that Nona is going to be the new DA on Law & Order: Criminal Intent this fall.
On “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” which is more centered on the psychology of crime than the original, Vincent D’Onofrio and Chris Noth will again alternate episodes playing lead detectives. But Mr. Noth’s character will have a new partner (Julianne Nicholson of “Conviction,” who replaces Annabella Sciorra). And both characters will report to a new commanding officer (Jamey Sheridan is leaving but has not yet been replaced) and will deal with a new assistant district attorney (Nona Gaye, who replaces Courtney B. Vance).

i think nona is a pretty lady, but i believe she's a better actress than a singer. we all can sound good behind electronics or the studio. do you remeber nona singing live with prince on mtv singing (Love Sign)? nona didn't sound good at all, but on the 1-800 new funk cd it sounds great. it seems as if hollywood loves her, so she should stick to acting.  | |

I saw her singing Lovesign with Prince on The Today Show and yeah, her vocals were weak. She's no powerhouse, that's for sure.  | |
