The bashing began before anyone knew about her fashion choices.

Hmm...U really like Tamar. I can tell from this thread, and others. I like her talent too, as do many other people here. But U sure do spend a lot of time excessively defending her. Which is cool, but a lot of the low-blowing words like those above are not necessary. Unless U have some sort of connection with Tamar, how do U know who will have the last laugh walking to a bank? LOL. Her album doesn't even have a release date yet. She's on Myspace literally begging people to call radio stations to play her song. I'm not criticizing that 'cause all advertisement helps, but it shows that she isn't exactly floating on easy street. U spoke about Prince’s “so-called” fans before, yet U almost seem like one yourself. If U knew Prince's message, U would be aware that money is not the main issue anyway, but the longevity of real music and artistic freedom.

I think we should all be cool and calm about her career, and just wait and see what happens. I wish her the best and want to see her succeed, but let her become established as a solo artist and not "that girl that sings with Prince" before we become so arrogant in our words regarding her.

Besides, this discussion in particular is beyond Tamar now anyway. It's not about her as an artist or even as a person, but people's perspective on beauty, which is all relative.

I really like Tamar as well. This is a Prince site and Tamar works with Prince, but just because you were introduced to Tamar thru Prince doesnt mean she only has fans because of him. Thats so far from the truth Tamar has a fan base outside of Prince.

I thought some of your comments were arrogant in reguards to Tamar. Shes on her myspace trying to promote her songs with her fans, how does that show anything other than her trying to handle her business?

I think Princes message of "longivity of real music and artistic freedom" more than anything is the reason for Prince and Tamar working together.

Prince is a fan of Tamar, he thinks of her as a true artists and gives her that respect I dont see why Prince fans dont do the same

and where the heck did i ever imply that i was going to lay off tamar? the girl is a fashion mess...the girl is trying to be an entertainer...its her job to be scrutinezed...therefore folks are going to reserve the right to make fun of her. if she didnt want to be a "star" she could have got a job on broadway...she could be doing back-up session work as a singer...or she could be a songrwiter...she is choosing to put herself in the limelight...and she is doing it with IMHO horrid outfits.
