What happened to Frank McCombs?

Was he booted from the NPG or did he leave on his on accord?

Don't want to give too much detail regarding this but i actually met Frank McComb quite recently and asked him about his stint with Prince. He said it was an experience that he would never forget, but Prince was on his on agenda and wasn't interested in helping Frank advance (i.e. Tamar) and any time he wanted to input on what was being played; Prince didn't really want to hear his input at all.

He's a real cool cat, so i just kind of sat there and listened, but come one anyone in the music biz should know now that your input is going to be very limited when playing with prince.

With all that said, Most of Frank's solos stuff is excellent.

OIC...I was just wondering because I read somewhere that Tamar was the cause of him not being in the band. Thanks.

Here is where U can find everything about Mr McComb.

Frank is cool. He is an accomplished artist who is still in the process of building his independant career, and he is also a creator of good albums on his own for a long time now. He has got nothing against Prince, but I don't see Frank being happy just playing in Prince's band without being allowed any creativity nor input while putting his own career on the side.
Anyway keep supporting Frank's music and buy the cd from his own e-shop. The guy personally answers email, So do not hesitate to drop him an e-mail.

Cheers

I guess I'm going to weigh in here again. This is not the only report of Frank being untowards; damn, the man is gifted beyond belief. I also rate Tamar vocally and find this whole situation sad.

It helps when you're riding Prince. biggrin
