Wow really??? Omg remember that movie he was in with Lisa Bonet? God I hated that movie and his character. He came across as such a pretentious snob...but he was good in Better Off Dead.

Ok, I just checked it out and it was back in 1994 when John did Bullets Over Broadway - so that's probably how the fat dude was telling the story - from that time period.

Yes, I have heard such rumors, but this is way past tense now.

They were together for a couple of years actually, I seen him at the Chicago stop on Wendy and Lisa's brief Eroica tour in 89/90.

I also read somewhere an old interview that John Cusack was sharing an LA apartment with his girlfriend Susannah Melvoin. So yes they were dated and I heard they were engaged briefly.

It's true John was sitting right by me at Park West in Chicago during W/L's gig. He had a red rag on his head and a long black coat. It was common knowledge back then that they were dating and by him being from Chicago, I guess it was fitting to show up at that stop on the tour. Someone else who now goes by the name "Julian" was also there and we had a pretty interesting conversation about things that night. Back in those days Park West use to be the place for a certain type crowd. People who were more into the music and message as opposed to people being on the set just for the "hype".
