MPLS: Before the Music Dies Sneak Preview 6/7: Susannah, Wendy, Lisa cameos If you haven't heard about Before the Music Dies yet, it's a documentary about the modern state of the music industry - lots of "own your masters" and DIY aesthetic, Erykah Badu being hilarious and snarky, digs at Clear Channel, that kind of thing.
Susannah's hubby Doyle Bramhall II gets a lot of coverage in the film, and so she also shows up quite a bit, as do Wendy & Lisa in some live footage from last summer. Also: Questlove, Erykah Badu, Branford Marsalis, and tons of other artists speaking out about the industry, doing live stuff, all that. The film won't be in full release till later in the summer, but there's a sneak preview in MPLS tomorrow at 7pm at the Varsity Theater (and in Ann Arbor, MI on June 9).
