In the spirit of Mani's great style I think we should also celebrate Mayte's cool style. I'm not talking about her stage gear...she did wear lots of sexy, outragous clothes and boots/shoes that one wouldn't dare wear outside...well at least I wouldn't...but I'm talking about her everyday wear. I've always admired her clothes, make up and how she styled her hair. These are the things I like about her...she can look sexy and without looking sleezy, skanky or like she is trying to hard.

When she wears like a sexy short lame skirt she pairs it with like a big coat or when she wears short shorts she covers her midriff with a t-shirt. Or wears jeans with a sexy top.

I LOVE Mayte's make up. Ok I know it looks dated and really ninties but I love the dark eyeshadow with the dark lip liner and lighter lipstick. Yes I still do this and also she's latina so you know she's obligated to sport those fablous big hoop earings we so love! Also I saw a pic of Mayte with no make up on at her website...she looks different but still beautiful. She actually looks very pueto rican!

What I also love about her is she doesn't get stuck in one color. She wears everything from black to something really bright and coral. I love wearing as many different colors as I can get away with.

She always wears cool funky dresses....like that remember in 3 chains of gold when she was with Prince on the carosle? She wore a red dress with this cool red hat with a big flower on it? I would definatly wear something like that out.

Now I love Carmen Electra but she kinda has this Pamala Anderson style...her style does come off kinda silly and tacky at times...Mayte has down perfect...she looks sexy but at the same time modern and not cheesy as Carmen looks sometimes.

Can anyone post some pics of Mayte as examples of what I'm talking about? I would but I dont' know how to post pics. But just like pics of her in her everyday gear..not stage clothes. Thanks!

I never liked the way Mayte dressed. Prince made her look like one of those dress-up dolls. Her make-up was too theatrical. and her eyebrows? please.


nowadays her make up is much prettier and her eyebrows are wayyy more human-like.

As far as her clothes now? I think she dresses better for photo shoots than in real life. i've seen her dress too much like a teenager when she's out and about. she should try to keep it sexy but more mature. she is 30 now right?

I always liked her hair though. except those pointy bangs she had when she was with Prince.

I don't know about a fashion icon, but I was in love with those bangs she had in the mid 90's. They were freakin' adorable. I actually like her stage clothes better than what she normally wears.
