Hey Power, do you know that you've mentioned that you make your own music now, approx. 50x. ?? I know you're trying to push your stuff but you don't have to remind us all the time...I love the 'truck' song...wonderful piece..[/quote] Hey man, u'd never talk 2 Michael B. this way in his own thread, would u? Just because Robin didn't make it in the P camp as long as Mike & is a woman (& talks a bit weird, i admit) doesn't mean she doesn't deserve as much respect as Mike: remember that she IS doin' us a favor by sharing her xperiences here. By the way, RobinAngel, i just listened 2 ur tracks on myspace & they r very interesting spoken word stuff. I'd certainly want 2 hear more. Thanx 4 coming here [Edited 6/4/06 16:00pm]

It's like Massive Attack on viagra. I love it!!! Um, No. This is so interesting - this love/hate controversy we have going here. This is so typical of innovative music. It breaks all the rules - which throws people for a loop and repels them; yet at the same time it works somehow - which intrigues others. I'd put myself in the latter category. What rules does Power break? I'll name a few: 1. All good music has to have a definitive melody. (this rule has already been broken by rap music). 2. All good music has to have lock step rhythm. (Power's rhythm is very off compared with the instrumental tracks). 3. All good music has to be sung the way American Idols singers sing (this rule has been broken by many many artists already). 4. All good songs have one lead vocal line, perhaps with backup vocals. (Power just mushes everything together - there is no clear definition between lead and backup vocals - just a whole bunch of multi-tracking.) 5. All good music has easily defined themes and thematic development. (Power's stuff has very subtle thematic development that's minutely incremental and organic.) Not only does she break the rules, she makes it work. If you can get past the bimbo image that the Graffiti Bridge movie and even she imposed upon herself, you might hear she is on to something here. Just my humble opinion. [Edited 6/4/06 21:24pm] The blessings and curses of being beautiful - a documentary

Since I am not a Prince fanatic like many of you are, today is the first time I have ever heard of this Robin Power AKA Power Royal.
Having an open mind to not knowing anything about this person I checked out the myspace, and even forced myself to sit through 2.5 songs. Sorry I couldn't make it through the third one. One Horney, lonely lady + one casio keyboard = What I just heard.
