Was Rosie Gaines bullied by the NPG?

I heard people talking about Tony M and others picking on her size, is this true?

Did Prince know? She spoke highly of Prince in an interview i saw and he invited her to Paisley Park for the millenium eve party(rave).

Yeah supposedly Rosie caught a lot of flack from some of the other NPG members about her size. She said that she told Prince (back then) that he needed to get rid of some of the guys in the band. Rosie said some of them were on drugs and just created a bad enviornment to be in. Dr. Fink said the same thing about Wally and Mr. Brooks in the 1986/1987 era.

I'm surprised Prince would allow people like that in his organization.

yup. she said basically (i am not quoting here) that prince and the male members of the band (game boyz) did not take her seriously because she was a woman and she was overweight. He was defintely aware of the problem because he sometimes participated in it.
when she would get upset about them picking on her (and Mayte) Prince and the guys would be like "she must have her period" and shit like that.
BUT when the guys weren't around Prince would act like an entirely different person. more sensitive and whatnot.

It was like being around all that testosterone turned him into an asshole. he never defended Rosie and he never got on the guys' cases about the harassment until after he started fooling around with Mayte. By that time, Rosie was gone. After he began sexing it up with Mayte, those guys were ousted with a quickness.

You know...some of the game boys seemed like they were men that a woman would feel uncomfortable being around. I'm sure Prince would be intmidating as well when he was around them as well...didn't Mayte feel uncomfortable around them too? Aparently Prince did nothing to shield Mayte from their rambuntious boy behavior either...she probably needed it more considering she was just a young girl then...Rosie was a grown woman that could take care of herself, but just the same I'm sure she didn't like being around alot of those guys. It was cool that Rosie was there for Mayte too.

But I thought it was pretty lame how Prince would be alone with Rosie and treat her with respect then when the game boys were around he'd have to act like a "guy" and end up kinda picking on her too.

Like its some surprise that Prince would discriminate against "big women"? rolleyes Come on, now. Most men are visual. Put a little alcohol or some other substance in their systems and they will let a lot of things fall out of their mouths. Was she bullied? Most likely. Was she a strong sista in spite of it? I'd wager to say "YES". Go Rosie!

Nah, I gotta disagree about Prince being a better rapper. He was pretty bad. Really. Tony M. was OKAY as a rapper but Prince pretty much SUCKED. Way too corny and a terrible flow.

She said that he did put on a separate bus but, she really felt he should have fired the band memebers who were giving her a hard time. I never read a interview were she said he picked on her. She said she was upset with him because he was ignoring her concerns.

Most of them suck. (Young fill-in-the-blank and Lil whoever) Not as much as Prince but they suck. There are dirty south rappers with flow - Ludacris, Scarface, Andre & Big Boi, and so on...
we are way off topic...

GO ROSIE!!!!

I don't consider Outkast to be apart of the dirty south genre. Since they were putting out music about a decade before the rest of these losers and do take the time to find decent music.

The dirty south suck just as much a P when it come to rapping. They just don't get slammed for it.

Besides when you have as much talent as P has rapping is not really that important.

You know how fucking scary it is that Rosie is not a big star--singer? She is just too talented. Too bad she is such an awful song writer.

I bet if you asked Andre if he's a dirty south rapper he'd at least say that he WAS. ATL is DEFINATELY the Dirty South. I get what you're saying though. OutKast preceeded the wave of "franchise" rappers out of the South. T.I. is pretty good. Lil Jon might suck as much as Prince? Rapping is simply NOT Prince's forte...and that's alright because if it was I probably wouldn't have any of his records.

All you have to do is read or listen to the lyrics to "Work That Fat" to know the answer to that question.

Not only to agree with everything you hhave said but Outkast's first album was called Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik that right there says it all they are very Dirrrty south IMO.
