like some have said, she's not going anywhere. this is going to be the sequel to larry graham in 98-99 where he was EVERYWHERE prince was. i firmly believe that the reason why prince hasn't promoted his album is because he wants to promote tamar's album more and since they come out months apart, he can kill 2 birds with 1 stone. silly but that prince for you.

Tamar seems to me a result of the Prince/Beyonce pairing:

Prince is creating his OWN Beyonce.

Listen: I only know Tamar from listening to 3121 and I find her vocals unremarkable/inoffensive if nothing else.

Prince is coming off as a dirty old man devoting so much energy to this individual.

I find it weird that Prince puts so much energy into people like Tamar, Ingrid Chavez, Carmen Electra, instead of surounding himself with MUSICIANS with FUNK CREDIBILITY.

She is a pretty girl with a great singing voice. I will take her over any American Idol bimbo, or primped, over hyped party doll of the Britney kind.

On the album, she is OK...Live, she kicks serious ASS....I really would rather have the live Tamar show I saw in Miami with Prince over the 3121 album any day.

How is he over promoting her?

No one outside of the Prince fan community even knows who she is.

Excuse me but at every concert in Prince's entire career he has always surrounded himself with great musicians. Even at the Tamar show, there was a great band: Cora on drums, her husband on bass, Morris on the keyboard and ofcourse Prince, and they sounded tight. It's one thing if you don't like Tamar, but why would you make such a stupid statement about him not surrounding himself with musicians?
