How do Rate Andre Cymone's albums

I've been looking through the databank at thedawnexperience.co.uk and was surprised to see Andre Cymones album get rated so badly.

I don't think they are classics, but I think all three are enjoyable, epsecailly Livin' in the New Wave.

So, I was wondering is it general opinion that these albums are crap.

I think his 1985 album 'A/C' is excellent."The Dance Electric" and "Book Of Love" are top-notch,and let's not forget the sultry slow jam "Pretty Wild Girl".Great album!

I don't have "Surviving The 80s". That's one I didn't pick up when it was released and now it's hard to find.

I bought "Livin' In The New Wave" when it was in style and, at the time, the only things I cared about were "Kelly's Eyes" and "So Fine". Back then, I was expecting a more Princely sounding funky record since Andre had come from the Prince camp. However, throughout the years, I've noticed that Andre is definately a man of his own and was going more after his own style than following Prince's. Both artists had that similar cold synthesized sound I love but Prince was more on the funk side and Andre was more on the new wave side. Realizing that now, I've come to love every song on the album and now it's my favorite Andre Cymone album. Andre has also become my favorite to come from the Prince camp.

"AC" is a great album also. It's much more on the Princely funky side than "Livin' In The New Wave". I love this album all the way through also.
Andy is a four letter word.

I think "Living In The New Wave" & "A.C." are wonderful albums, 2 of the best non-Prince MPLS Sound productions of the 80's!!!

I never had the chance to hear "Surviving In The 80's" nor The Girls' "Girl Talk" &, boy, what i wouldn't give to be able to purchase them in MP3 or CD!

It's a pity so many pearls from these years are so hard to find...

I've order a copy of the Girls album on used vinyl. It was only $5.00

Hopefully its in decent condition described as being EX/VG+.

Found it using netsounds.

I'll let know what I think when I get it.
