Tangerine posted on HQ that the release date has been pushed back to August 29th.

Not to worry...I'm sure it'll be leaked by mid/late July. After all, leaking the album did wonders for 3121's pre-release buzz.

I can see with my third eye that joint being shelved 4ever.
if it does come out, it will be some shit like you just happen to see it for $9.99 in some bin at the local Best Buy.

I was on her myspace page and DJ Rashida left this message yesterday:

Makes me think the message is referring to the album being pushed back again.

I can only imagine how disappointed she is but this happens to artist all the time.

Maybe Universal isn't liking how much NON promotion P is doing for 3121. And they aren't taking chances in putting out an album that P wont be pushing...which it prolly thinks it needs...even though if they were to promote the hell out of it, it would sell.

Somehow I think this new date is going to correspond with P's tour schedule.

I hope the June 16 Good Morning America performance is still on...

This really sounds detrimental for Tamar's debut, but I hope that it works out for her .

All promotion for Tamar and 3121 should have went down RIGHT AFTER the SNL performance... Doubt any casual listeners still have any interest.

Anyone in the music industry knows that albums get pushed back all the time. It's no big deal.

I find it interesting how some are ready to preach the end of Tamar's career when her album has not even been released yet. It makes me wonder if it is more wishful thinking than anything else.

I believe a buzz was successfully created because at least everyone here and all other Prince websites now know who she is, whether or not they like Tamar or not. The key is to transcend that to the rest of the world and that can only be determined WHEN her album is released. How could anyone kill something that has not even started?

I don't know has Universal much to say about Tamar's album or not - it's a 'hand shake deal' and if I understanded correctly, Universal only distributes whatever Prince is putting out. I assume this would concern about Tamar too?

Maybe not pushed back after all... Check www.tamaronline.com and www.umrg.com - the website of Universal Motown Records Group. They both state Milk & Honey is being released June 13th.

As been said previously in this thread...

Albums get pushed back all the time... it happens to most. Peeps around here are just so 'into' knowing every detail about anything and any body related to Prince .. that we are of course more aware about things like 'release dates' from any thing he is associated with. But again... there are hundreds.. of albums yearly which this ocurs to... we just aren't all up in those artist's proverbial asses tweaking on every aspect of thier professional or personal life.

That said... the first delay was most likely due to problems concerning her using the name 'Tamar' which happens to be the name associated also with 'Tamar Braxton'... stuff like that can happen. Lawyers and/ or marketing people at the last minute going.."Umm hey guys..we have a problem here."

Prince probably took the delay opportuninty to actually change the direction of the album and record some new tracks.

I suspect this is likely one of the reasons for this second delay... and if so... I don't mind waiting an extra month or two if it means a tighter product in the end.
