Objects of desire

Before Mayte, I visualised Vanity or Susannah when hearing love and loss songs

Now I instantly think they are about Mayte, and how its so tragic that the grief wrecked em up.

NOW
I've been thinking that this is very much a girls point of view, just because he 'strums my pain with his fingers' does'nt mean he does'nt think like any other man and flit around from flower to flower pollenating.

This is a sympton of growing up and heartbreak, that I don't trust my initial reactions, and don't have the complete blind conviction I used to.

This is a sad thing, but also a good thing, when i was younger it made me almost sick that he was in the world and I did'nt know him. I put my head in my hands when i heard the rainbow children, and cried, taking the cd back the same day. then i put everything in boxes and tried to forget about them. Like we'd split up or something (?!)

Its good that I've stopped speculating constantly and being unrealistic, bestowing personal qualities on a man I've never met.

He is a musical genius, who still moves me deeply with music, but I can remain detached enough to be passionate about it without going crazy, filling the gaps in my life with imagined parts of his.

Sorry this is a long post, i needed to get that off my chest.

What would life be without daydreams and fantasy? I wouldn't feel too guilty about it. As long as it's not interfearing with reality I think living in a dream world when you relax is perfectly normal. We all need an escape. As long as you take care of your responsiblities in life, realise that Prince is a real person and may not be the fantasy man you envision then roll around in your fantasties! wink

As for which girls I think songs are about...Hmmmm? I think there has been so many it's really a toss up to me. But I've always wondered if the Gangster Glam video girl inspried any songs? She was hot! razz

I feel ya! I'm a hopeless daydreamer, but as Krystal sais, what would life be without fantasy and being able to escape from reality from time to time? We wouldn't have any literature and music without that. wink
The fact that ppl often have a crush on a star is, among other things, because of the mystery. It's like when you see the same guy on the bus everyday. You become interested and curious. Who is he? Where is he going? What life does he live?

Phee Ewww!

You have no idea how much unneccesary stress this caused me last night. It always difficult to be completely honest without fearing that you actually are a fruitloop and are about to be reminded.

Now I feel happy and sunny in my insides.
Thanks xx lips

Don't worry, the majority of people at the Org have probably felt what u described at one time or another about someone.
I worry that I use Prince's music, watching him on dvd/video and coming to the Org as an emotional crutch and that at times I may be losing touch with reality but I swear it helps keep me sane in an insane world. Surely it is better to indulge in these fantasies and use this as a form of escapism than to rely on drink or drugs for instance. Like Krystal wisely said;as long as u keep one foot in realitys door then where is the harm?

Thanks! nod Yes Prince and his music are an escape for alot of people. It is important to remember that every human being needs an escape. Some people spend their free time researching history, some people collect old coins..some people collect Prince music, books, videos, ect.. I mean I think liking Prince's music could really be no different than watching a movie, reading a book or going out clubbing....I mean at least Prince teaches people about love and god and self esteem...I actually think he is very positve..there are alot of dangerous self destructive escapes out there like drinking, drugs, sex, food ect...daydreaming about Prince seems pretty harmless. I love to fantasize about lots of things...it makes me feel happy...so do you it seems maleeboo...as long as you are aware that Prince=fantasy no need to run to the psychitrist just yet! LOL!
