ALEXANDER O NEAL

Former lead vocalist of Flyte Time, a precursor to Prince's The Time,...
Now that´s interesting- checked this guy out, while lookin for the Cherrelle-album. Why wasn´t he in "The Time"- I read on allmusic, he was too black for the WB-deal. WTF? I can´t believe it?
anyone got answers to this?

SPYZFAN1	According to Alexander O Neal, Prince and him had a lot of disagreements on how to approach The Time. Prince wanted him to just be the singer and that's it. Alexander wanted to write and get involved and Prince pretty much told him "my way or the highway". So Alexander split. As far as it goes with the WB "too black" thing, I've never heard that but it sounds interesting.
