I've always wondered who could sing lines like:

When I look in the mirror, I see your ugly face... I just want to run...

that is REALLY an odd thing to say.

Yeah, it is.

but bootsy isn´t fat. george clinton would fit much better with the lyrics...

Nah, the "bean pole lookin' aludes to being thin, like Bootsy have always been. The "toss salad hair do having" is also about Bootsy's hairstyle. Besides the fact that Andre C. told me that the song was about Bootsy, I feel the description describes Bootsy to the tee, except for the "fat" part towards the end.

I really don't care who the song is about. The tune is just plain funky. The comic side of it just makes you want to listen a little closer to see who their talking about.I would love to hear this song as they were making it.If they were talking about Bootsy Collins it almost fits.I hope he took it in the same context of fun as the Funkadelics jam Let's Take it to The stage.

I've heard from a reliable source that this song was about Bootsy Collins. Mark Cardenas(formerly of The Time) lives in my city and is in local funk bands with friends of mine. It actually makes sense if you know the lyrics, "Why you big, tossed-salad, hairdo-havin', long, tall, snaggly gold-toothed,
.... funkin' habit-formed, leather-wearin', beanpole-lookin', black".

Obviously you don't get their brand of humor. It's a black thang. These cats were just in the studio cuttin' up(having some fun). I fall out everytime I listen to it. If you pay attention you might even here "Irrestible Bitch" horns in there somewhere.

I know for a FACT that it's about Bootsy. And like u said, it's HELLA obvious in the lyrics. P ADORES Bootsy, that's why he did it. It's P on lead vocal, imitating Morris. Morris is on drums. P did the same thing earlier on another even better b-side, "Grace". He does the Morris voice also on Vanity 6's "If A Girl Answers".
I REALLY DON'T CARE WHO THE SONG WAS ABOUT.IT'S JUST A FUNKY, FUNNY JAM.IT'S TIGHT JUST LIKE SHEILA E'S BEHIND.

That comes from years of playing. U develop the strength in your fingers and your wrist. That's when u get a natural vibrato going. That's what Paul is doing. Many guitarists do it as well. It's really easy to do when your sound is set on distortion. U can play certain runs on a guitar without even picking if your vibrato and pull-offs are on. Just keep playing, and over time, you'll develop it.

Cool. I am focusing on keys now, but do want to start bass again.

But you think P defintely overdubbed those "gimme some horns" keys on Tricky, right?

I don't know if you have this, but there is this late 80s documentary on Prince, done by his own people. Miles Davis, Eric Clapton and other are talking about him and towards the end you can see (unfortunately not hear, as the rehearsal performance of The Ladder is playing over it) Prince play guitar and keybaords at the same time during a rehearsal. Bitch looks cool doing it, too!
