My question is this:

Was Prince playing bass AND keyboard "hoens" at THE SAME TIME?

Or did they record the bass and keys on separate tracks?

THe bass doesn't drop out during the synth horns so how could he keep it going? By palying the bass just with the left hand on the frets? IS that possible? I think St. Paul does it on his recent DVD for a little bit, but that seems really hard to do.

I only played bass for a few months (still need to get mine restrung and try again), but I dind't know if it was possible to do what I just said.

I got ST. Paul's new DVD and when he's doing Junle Love he's playing bass, and sometimes he took is right hand off the strings to gesture etc. but kept the bass line going by just using his left hand on the fret board. I don't know how to make that work since I was just beingging to play.

That comes from years of playing. U develop the strength in your fingers and your wrist. That's when u get a natural vibrato going. That's what Paul is doing. Many guitarists do it as well. It's really easy to do when your sound is set on distortion. U can play certain runs on a guitar without even picking if your vibrato and pull-offs are on. Just keep playing, and over time, you'll develop it.

Nah, it's a valid question. It's my post. This is the thing with Grace for me. I've ALWAYS linked Grace to P. When I found out that P did the voice on If A Girl Answers, then I thought "Well, hell. That's P on Grace too! For him to do it on a later track like Tricky, and then to have Morris tell me that P did the voice on Tricky... mentally, I always include Grace with the others.
