Actually, the lyrics you hear in Strawberry Lover are in fact Prince's re-written lyrics. The original title of the song was "Fear the Shadow"... Prince rewrote the lyrics very quickly and the song became "Strawberry Lover" .. He did the same thing on "I Guess It's All Over" which was originally titled "We Did Things Our Way"

It was originally called something else. All Prince did was rewrite the lyrics and title according to DMSR: The First Decade.

I've never heard the song but I was just reading this last night.

the song is okay,but there are much better songs on the album.I do like the clever metaphors that they use in "Strawberry Lover"...

Are you serious? Strawberry Lover is fantastic. Hedonistic, simplistic but a great 80's jam. The guitar, the cheesy lyrics, the great vocal -I love this track and the entire album.

The bitch on it can't sing either..lol
