Tony M ruined Prince's sound, and some would argue, career.

And then, he tried to sue Prince after his falling out with the man whilst they were touring La Coruna in Spain.
Tony claimed money for his "contribution" to masterpieces such as 'Jughead' and others that escape my mind at the moment. Both he and Levi Seacer Jr. took Prince to court over unpaid royalties. The money they both got from that court case was barely enough to cover their legal costs.

Just like other useless prototypes before him (namely Greg Brooks and Wally Safford) Tony M is nothing more than a thug a complete waste of body hair.

OUCH!!! That's a scathing assessment.Damn!

Well,I'm fast becoming "The King Of Unpopular Opinions" around here...lol...but I like Tony M.He's not the world's greatest rapper, but I like what he brought to the Prince sound of 1991-93.As many of you know (since I say it sooo often...lol),the 'Love Symbol' CD is my favorite Prince album of the 90s and Tony had alot to do with that.I love his contributions on songs like "Sexy MF","The Maxx" and "Gett Off".He's not a "distraction",he ADDS to the songs and gives them a "street/hip-hop" feel that is now sorely missing from much of Prince's recent music.
Go ahead, flame me now.I'm stickin' to my guns though smile

I agree.

1. Prince for sure was having more fun on stage when Tony was around. Those shows were much more fun and loose.

2. Tony was good smooth PR, knew how to talk to people. (Unlike Prince) When MTV covered the Controvery convention.. Tony took over, came out and greeted the fans, and even gave a tour.

3. I would much rather hear Tony rap on a Prince hip-hop track than Prince himself.

4. The chemistry he had in the studio during those hip-hop years of Sexy MF, The Max, GangstaGlam & Gold Nigga did well to compliment Prince and his thunderous funk.

I agree he sucked onstage especially during the Sacrifice of Victor show. But I'll take him over that annoying noise screaming on and on at the end of the Rave DVD.

Does anyone know what Tony M. is doing these days? He is such a great talent, and really made the NPG an awesome force. His presence on the "Goldnigga" CD was very impressive. His style of rap really blended quite well with the music of Prince and the former musicians of the NPG. Is he doing anything solo?

Peace and Love,

The same idiot who put it in into P's head that in order to get back his black audience,he has to become some gangsta rapper wannabee with a gun microphone to boot!!!
For that he needs a beatdown... shoot3

You beat me to it. He's the least talented person with whom Prince ever worked. I would have rather had Bobcat Goldthwait in the NPG than that fucking loser.
---

You've got to be kidding me right? You obviously did not listen to the Goldnigga CD, or songs like Sexy MF and My Name is Prince !! Trust me. Prince selected Tony M. because he had a new and creative flavor to add to the NPG. And I might add, he is a great rapper. A novice of Princes' music like yourself should buy the albums/cd's in which Tony M. was on (which you obviously don't own) and take a good listen, then apologize to the group for your ignorance.

New creative flavor?.. he sounded like bullwinkle fucking moose fer fucks sake

bohurdle, do you really like Tony M. or is this a joke? Honestly, I've never heard of someone who liked him.

---

Yes. I do like Tony M. As I said before, I thought that he was a good addition to the NPG, and I would like to know what he is currently involved in. I will digress by saying again that Prince chose him to be a part of the NPG for a reason. This reason is that he had something positive to contribute to the chemistry of the group. As a result, he was included in some of the greatest music that Prince has put out.

Peace and Love

1.Prince trying to be something he's not is never a FUN thing to watch.
2. Couldn't rap to save his life but I'll give you that he was a very nice guy. I talked to him a few times and he was always a gentleman unlike that penis John Blackwell.
3. I'd rather hear Prince
4. Hee hee...you almost sounded like you meant that. That was the worst chemistry Prince has ever had with any band member.

You mutha fuckas are HILARIOUS. Tony M. served a purpose. Miscalculation? Maybe. All I know is, if I'm FORCED to listen to one of the two rap (Tony or Prince), it would be Tony. That in and of itself ain't sayin' much, though.
