Alexander O'Neal (ex-Time frontman)

In the UK at the moment, Alexander O'Neal (who used to be a member of The Time before Prince allegedly fired him over a disagreement) is on our televisions the last few nights!

He has been terrific, on a Pop Idol type show where a TV presenter is teamed up with a seasoned soul performer, and they have to pull off a performance together.

Pleased to report Alexander and his TV presenter have done very well so far, and are currently second in the competition.

Man, it is so good to see Alexander back up there, performing. He really does have a fantastic voice.

I actually saw him perform a small concert last year in London on Valentine's Day, and for one segment of the show, he asked the audience if they knew the "Minneapolis Funk?!" and then did a very Time-esque performance with his backing band that was awesome.

Anyone notice that Prince's classic song "17 Days" sounds *VERY* much like Alexander O'Neal's "Hearsay" and "Fake" songs off his famous LP "Hearsay"?

I'm in the UK and I'm going to see him in concert in a few weeks time in Brentwood. Check his website out - he regularly tours in the UK. Can't wait to see him - when the bass drum kicks in for Fake i'll be a happy lad.

ya know..many african american's have darker eyes..ive always wondered why....obviously he might have them because he is a drunk or druggie but...i've never really felt comfortable with folks continually making fun of him because of it..expecially when i know many many non-drunk african american's who have red eyes naturally.

I would never make fun of it. I'm African-American so why would I make fun of my fellow people. I was just simply stating a fact that his eyes appeared to be always red. No the facts before U assume something. chair
