In praise of SKILLET

Skillet! Damn this is an amazing track. It is great to actually hear the voices of several members of the time (practically everyone is called out by Morris). The guitar is so funk/rock and the groove is intense, and Morris plays out his cocky self like few other Time tracks. Hard not to get pumped listening to this one.

Why didn't they release it as a single? Obviously they thought this would be a signature song since the cover of the CD has them in a skillet, and also the stage from the parts that The Time performed in Graffiti Bridge.

This is a song that would have let the world know that The Time was back, strong and in full force.

If you haven't heard it for a while, treat yourself and go back, pop in Pandemonium and play it... loud!

Anyone else?

Yeah, I agree. It pretty much rocks. They should have released it instead of "Chocolate" as the second single.

Agreed. This would have been a great crossover single.

That riff is killer. I love the way they break it down and Morris says, "Cut 'em, Jesse!". That s**t is classic!

As much as I love "Blondie", I think "Skillet" is my fave smile

The ONLY cuts on that album that I like are the ones that Jesse wrote.

It reminds me of Graffiti Bridge when the band was playing in that huge skillet. I have a smaller one in my cupboard that looks just like it. As for the song, there's some killer riffs on it. I would'nt be surprised if one of these rock bands like Green Day or Good Charlotte re-did it. either that one or "Blondie"

If Green Day re-did Skillet, I would personally ASSASSINATE their asses. johnwoo Good Charlotte isn't capable of reproducing Skillet. This would be right up the alley of 311 to do something like that. They would just get a beatdown. At least they can play a lil bit.

I could not agree more.I fell in love with this track. The guitar work is incredible.I'm a bass player myself and when I heard this I could'nt help but learn it so I could play along.Me and a coulple of my boys sat back and listened to this and the Funkadelics Cosmic Slop back to back all night long, turned up way past ten!If you like Funk sliced up with some razor sharp guitar playing this is the tune. It's the Time at their best.

Actually, I was trying to think of the name of that band that did a remake of "Smooth Criminal" by Michael Jackson a few years back, But I can't remember them. Green Day has a few songs that I like, Good Charlotte is more of a gimmicky type band whose 15 minutes of fame should just about over.

I just picked up pandemonium yesterday, and skillet is certainly one of the big standouts. Not as good as blondie tho.
