Carmen Electra

I was wondering if anyone actually saw Carmen open for Prince during the Act 1 tour in '93? Can you give me any details about it? When I saw her preform during the Ryde Divine it seemed like the fans there were at least trying to give her a chance.

Missed the tour... But her Ryde Divine performance was hotter than anything Mrs. Federline or Xtina have produced.

I saw her in Glam Slam Ulysses as well as a few shows she did at Glam Slam where she sang to taped music. She was always hanging around the club and was very friendly about talking to us. It was after the paisley hype about her started but before her album came out.

The one NUDE TOUR show I saw had Mavis open up for Prince (Cork Ireland) so no Carmen there.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

Thank you for those that responded. I know Carmen gets trashed alot on this board but I really like her. I think she is beautiful and a talented dancer. Yeah maybe her rapping is kinda... confused ...but I really like the songs Prince choose for her. She can be cheesy but I like her alot anyway. biggrin

Well does anyone wanna give me more detalis? What did you REALLY think of her at the time? Did you think...she's not that bad? Or did you think I hope Prince will tire of her soon so we don't have to endure this any longer?

Like I said, I LOVED the steps and energy she brought in that era. Always thought she should have went the dance-pop route rather than rap, but that was Prince's call I suppose. I'm sure she could sing at least as well as Vanity or Apples. All in all it was wise of her to make that dash to Hollywood rather than wait around in hopes of Prince's continued interest.
