Well, to answer your question, I´ve met Eric Leeds after the Sheila E. and the E-Train show in Hamburg in 1994 ( Renato was also there) and we chatted a bit, and then we talked again at the 2002 Celebration at Paisley ( also talked about the 1994 show) and I find him VERY funny but in a not so obvious, very understated way..he´s got a very dry and witty humor and, IMO, comes very close to what people would consider a "British" kind of humor. It´s difficult to describe it, you just have to hear or read his words in the right situation, but I think Eric´s mentality complements Prince´s mentality in a very positive way....just like his saxophone playing...he´s the epitome of "THE" saxman in the Prince universe. Plus he can relate to how longtime fans feel about certain issues, regarding live recordings or overproduced tracks or changing tracklists. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Yeah, I remember the interview he and Levi did on BET and I quickly picked up his dry sense of Humor, which I love. Both he and Alan seem like they are two of the coolest, smartest cats out there. Although I got a front row seat at the Sheila E E train show in Houston, I did not get a chance to meet him. I would love to hang out with both he and Alan for a few hours. I'll bet they've got some stories and wisdom to share. I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

I met him for a minute after the Family Jamm. I told him he was my favortie saxman out there, and he was really humble and was like "you need to listen to more people then!".
It was not sarcastic at all. He was very nice and approachable and humble. I just said I really enjoyed his music and thanked him. Very cool guy.

I approached Eric in the Burbank Airport while waiting for a flight out to Vegas for the last show on the One Nite Alone Tour. He was on my flight with the road crew. I introduced myself, shook his hand and told him I dug his music, in so many words. He looked like he was going to faint. Did not have much to say. I told my then girlfriend who he was, and she said "That's Prince's main sax player?! He looks like a banker!" He did too. It was pretty cool to meet Mr. Madhouse. cracknbush
