Vanity 6 - Vibrator Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd ask everyone's opinions on this song. The outrageousness of this song still amazes me, and really shows how "out there", ahead of his time, and damn well funny Prince was during this period. it is on CD... i have it someplace. and i see it on ebay for a decent price from time to time...it is that Apples 6 that is hard to find. | |

I think he's done that voice in enough other songs ("Chocolate" & "Do yourself a favor", off the top of my head) to do at least an EP of similarly-themed tracks.. I'll see you tonight..

It's not on any album.It is an outtake,recorded in spring 1983 for a second Vanity 6 album.Of course,Vanity left the Prince camp for a solo career,and "Vibrator" has never been officially released.It's a hilarious track,with very dirty lyrics and alot of attitude.I love it! It must be my imagination,cause I know I didn't hear you laugh you'd be surprised what I do when you're through,taking your "macho" bath Unchartered water,sail with ease...land is always in sight but with you,it's always "abandoned ship" and we didn't even make it past the dock tonight...eat your heart out! Well stop believeing because youwont find it in a store unless someone sells a used one to the store. It has been out of rpint fo so long and there are so few of them that they never show up in stores. I found a used one in LA around 96 or 97. That is the last time I ever saw it retail. | |
