Anybody remember that part in Purple Rain where Brown Mark and Bobby Z were jamming? It was right when Prince showed up for rehearsal and got pissed over Wendy & Lisa not being there. I know it was just a snippet. But that was some serious jamming. Did Prince or any of his associates ever develop that into a composition? To me, that sounded better than half the stuff on radio today.

I always like the part where Prince finds W&L playing the precursor to Purple Rain. and they're playing to the Linn.

That and when prince plays it solo on his piano. that's how I try to play it on the piano myself, with the little progression down down.

Me too. I know it was a fictional movie. But it gave a little bit of a glimpse into the making of the song. In other musicals, you never see the artists practicing on a song. This was cool. Another fave was just seeing Dez do a snippet of Modernaire. Even though I've never heard it all the way through, I love that song...
