I'm not a Larry hater, but..... He's creepy. 
It's not whatever influence he may have had on P.'s choice of religion, (none of my business anyhow) it's not his big ass handlebar mustache, and it's DEFINITELY not his bass playing.  
It's that big brother/little brother stuff. Finally saw the Larry King interview with Prince practically sitting in his lap and it gave me the wiggins.

Larry's a good friend to Prince and an excellent bass player. Although we'd like to be able to pick Prince's friends, it's really up to him isn't it? | |

I can't stand Larry, and it has nothing to do with his religion.
I just find him to be creepy as hell and utterly obnoxious. Remember on Tavis Smiley when Larry was waving his CD around in front of the camera at the end like a fool? Can't stand him. [Edited 1/11/06 9:45am] The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

i really dont like that deep show voice he puts on
and he gets too close to his button on mic yah that voice is always the same i dont hate him as a person but i dont like him singing with prince You saw the apple

Lot's like P may not be that close to many people so the the fact that he could bond with another musician that he looks up to is not that strange. He even said he kind of looked at Larry as a father figure. Since he was not that close to his dad. | |

I know what you mean. I had only heard about his creepiness but then I got Rave Un2 the Year 2000 DVD for xmas. I think for me it was that crazy microphone attached to his bass, and that mustache. And referring to Prince as baby brother.  I'm not feelin' Larry, and in fact, since seeing that DVD I just haven't been able to listen to my Sly & the Family Stone albums...The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp. | |
