shows you how much i listen to that.

i agree, that the guitar was great, but that album just didn't fit jesse at all.
for those that liked his first 2 albums, his last was a real let down.

Yes, it's obvious that you haven't listened to 'Bare My Naked Soul'. Not b/c you don't know the title...but b/c it's the best album he ever did...and I LOVED his first three. I listen to that album on a near daily basis to this day...10 years after the release.

"Bare My Naked Soul" is my least favorite of all his albums BUT if he had put out a funk album during the 1990s, it would have received very little or no airplay on R&B radio just the same as The Barkays, Cameo, and War who also put out funk albums during this period.

The only way for an R&B artist from the 1980s to make a splash in the 1990s would be to sell out to the tired, boring, midtempo, hip hop influenced R&B bullshit that was and still is dominating R&B. I applaud Jesse for going a completely different route and not degrading himself by selling out to the bullshit.
