*~The Belle of St.Mark~*

The opener on Sheila E´s debut- is this a christmas song? seroiuos, when I hear that song I think of reindeers, a sleigh-ride and loads od snow. Is Sheila E maybe singing of Santa Clause?- u know the guy she´s in love with in the song?

No, it's not a Christmas song but I think of sleigh rides also. You should hear the 12 Inch, it really sounds Christmasy. lol

I bet there are some hidden "Ho-Ho-Ho"'s on the 12" version. maybe reversed, or something like that.

lol There are more of those "jingle bells" in the longer intro and breakdown.

I think she sings much better than the Vanity6 girls.

She wasn't meant to be the next Whitney Houston dang. She's a musician who pulled off some great songs that are a lot of fun. The whole album is a lot of fun and brings back a lot of memories of that time when the whole world was painted purple and paisley.
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

I dig this song, but the title drives me absolutely insane! nuts

Belle, in French, denotes a female. It should either be The Beau of St. Mark or The Bel of St. Mark--but not belle!

In response to Templeoffunk9311's comment, I agree that the lyrics could be about Prince--I think it's pretty funny that he wrote a love song about himself...he definitely has a high opinion of himself! biggrin
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
