jesse johnson-i'm just wanting you...electric or acoustic?

does anyone know if jesse johnson's "i'm just wanting you" was electric or acoustic? i heard this rumor during one night of web surfin then listened 2 the song 3 or 4 times but i still can't tell.... can i get some help out there? smile

I actually asked this a while back in the ASSOCIATED ROOM. Go there and the guitar heads in there will surely help you out. Interesting takes I might add.

you right about that...what i did was listen 2 "black in america" and compare the two. on the 1st solo and the one at the end, there's certain sounds you can get out of an electric that you cant get on an acoustic and vice versa....

Yep, and I was one of the cats that answered. It's electric although he's playing through a few effects.

in the liner notes to his "ultimate collection" it says he played the outro on twin guitars....i thought they meant he did it on a double neck or somethin, but he also said he finished everything in one night which meant the axe work was all his which i think is pretty fuckin incredible.... lol

The "twin guitars" mean that a guitar part was double tracked. He probably had one slightly lag behind the other to give it that effect. Pedals will do it also. But yeah, J.J. is no joke on the axe.

Jessie actually played that part with an electric guitar and a 12 string acoustic guitar multed behind it.
