OMG, I just got TOTALLY blessed with hearing Jill Jones' record (thank you Cazzie)!!! Here's my question... Now, I L-O-V-E Apples & Vanity both, but why the hell wouldn't P have Jill fronting that act? What a freaking cool voice!!! ((P, what on Earth were you thinking??? You couldda made so much more money!)) Anybody know if Mz. Jones has another album out? I know she was touring w/ Chic for a while, but I will cry if she does not have a second record!

Jill released an album with Chris Bruce called 'Two' a few years ago. It's pretty good. The music is closer to Wendy & Lisa than the pop-funk of her first album on Paisley Park.

Huh? No! I like Vanity and Apollonia much better. Honestly I don't think Jill was all that attractive for some reason. And Vanity 6/Apollonia 6 needed sex appeal and Vanity/Apollonia were perfect for that.

I like the "Apollonia 6" and "Vanity 6" albums much better than the "Jill Jones" album. Jill's album has some good stuff on it but Prince had already made his "artsy/fartsy" change when he worked with Jill on her album. His style change spilled over into her album and made it weaker than it should have been.

Jill could have had a much better album if Prince had produced her earlier when the other girls' albums came out. At the time that Jill's album actually did come out, she would have been better off letting either Jesse Johnson or Jam and Lewis produce it.

Vanity 6 first..Jill Jones album is GREAT..LOVE JILL. Apolonia 3rd. I like Jill JONES PERSONAE the best...Apples is SWEET.Vanity was HOT!

I ALWAYS thought JILL JONES was SEXY... Always thought she was PRETTY. I don't Know how people could say she wasn't. Jill has a GREAT looking Face. Great Bone structure. Look at 1999 and look at Graffiti Bridge. She is PRETTY. I didn't really think she was Made to look so Beautiful in Purple Rain. She Wasn't the star so played down. I'm with the consensus on this one. Jill Jones was definitely more talented than the rest. Her voice was light years beyond anything Vanity or Appollonia could accomplish. But Vanity was sex personified! Vanity started off flatchested and still had people drooling. Later she got a boob job, but she never needed it. She just had IT! Apples was a cute substitute that pales when compared to the original. I'd rather look at Vanity than Jill Jones. But I'd rather listen to Jill than Vanity. So your assessment was correct. Talent wise: 1)Jill Jones, 2) Vanity, 3) Appollonia. Sex Appeal: 1)Vanity, 2) Appollonia and 3) Jill Jones. Mind you, Jill did look hot on the Automatic video...

I have to for Jill on this one definately. She have the beauty and also talent just as well and I always saying that I wished Rick James would took her under her wing early on since she once worked for Teena Marie as a backup singer and Rick James would been great producer and also even mentor for her. I like her debut album but at the same time I think that Prince could have gave her stronger material. And also that Paisley Park didn't properly promote her either. Finally, for awhile Jill was patient to Prince as he was doing his own thing and also he was doing work for others. She was even satisfied of being even the smallest part in his life before their started to deteriorate around 1989.

I want to know had Prince called truce with her since I been hearing he had reaching out to the other people who he had hurted in the past.

What in the hell happened to her? her website isn't too much active and seems like it is down totally except she had the page about her cd.

When it comes to looks, Jill was drop dead gorgeous in the movie "Purple Rain" and the "1999" video. Blonde is definately her color and the hairstyle was kickin' too.

Looked a Marilyn MONROE,but I like the Black hair better for her. She looks a Puerto Rican HOTTIE.

Anyhoo, i thought she was latina until I read that Uptown article. The reason why was because Prince had a huge thing for them. Even on that 1999 video and on Purple Rain I knew she was ethnic, but couldn't figure out who she was.

Jill had it rough in the 90s. She couldn't work with any other record company or something due to her screw up and strict contract with Paisley Park, the death of her mother and uncle who was Prince's hairdresser, and her being in the hosiptal.

I heard that she is happily married and lives in Brooklyn with her daughter. I hope she found peace and also happiness through the rough decade she had. i hope she doing okay and haven't heard much from her since the Family Jamm and also on the PR 20th anniversaty and my she didn't look her best.

I never heard her 2001 album and I heard mixed reviews about it because it sound more rockish compare to her first one and also her wailing voice gets criticize too. I will probably get it soon from ebay or something to judge for myself. Have any y'all hear her 2001 album?

Just several months ago it said that the site was under construction. Anyway, Jill's old site wasn't all that and it was basically one page with only a few pictures of her and mention where to get her cd and briefly current news about herself. The only thing that made her site was so creative was when there that Family Jamm picture of her flashing at the intro.

Her old website was just too plain and boring and as a webmastress myself I know.
