DaKrash

I always see folks commenting on TaMara and the Seen. But Jesse's other project-DaKrash - was just as if not more funky . "Wasn't I Good to Ya"...."Trapped in phases" etc. I always thought this was Jesse's attempt at a Time/Mazarati type project headbang

I just learned about it recently. I had all the Tamara stuff on cassette back in the day.... loved it.

Would like to hear Da Krash if it's similar.

Man, I never heard of them. Were they any good? Musically, who did they sound like the most? TaMara and the Seen, Jesse or Morris? Was it an all guy group like the Time or what? Dish the dirt....

They only did 1 album under DaKrash. I don't know if it was really Jesse in the studio with the singer....a prince and morris type deal or if he really recorded the band.

The material was written around Jesse's "Every Shade of Love" period. I personally think he should've kept some of the material for himself. On wax they were mos def FONKY. Think fonky like Jesse's "She(i can't resist) nad Free World". I don't remember if they toured of what. They most certainly blow the TaMara project away.....

for daKrash go to www.amazon.de - the cd was released in Germany and the marketplace there usually has some in stock for 10 Euro or less. If you're an amazon customer in your own country you can buy using one click and not have to try and understand German....

highly recommended cd!

OOOOO yeah, I remember Da Krash. They were from St. Louis if I'm not mistaken. I still have their performance on Soul Train on Video. The Drummer climbed up high on one of the "building" props and started shaking it. Some of the Dancers were looking up at him like he was crazy. Those brotha's were wild.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Now this is an AWESOME album, I was just listening to Uptown the other. Gabriel the drummer plays on Jesse's Bare my Naked Soul too I believe.
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

I don't know if this is true or not but I heard that the lead singer caught a rape case not too long after their album dropped. They couldn't tour because of it. I liked "Wasn't I Good To Ya" That was the jam.

Yeah, he does. He's a cool drummer. Dig, we've rapped about Da'Krash on here in the past. I played with DeeDee, the guitarist from Da'Krash, for a few shows with a band called Dirty Diapers. Da'Krash was Jesse's answer to Brown Mark's Mazarati. Jesse gave them material that he wasn't going to cut himself. "Wasn't I Good To Ya" and "Trapped In Phases" are cool. Jesse plays some axe on there himself.
SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him."
