Props To Eric Leeds I would kill to see Prince live with Eric again.....IMHO, Eric and Prince together is as beautiful as Prince harmonizing with wendy & lisa. Any other fans? Any info? How they hooked up? What he has been up to? Im being lazy today....I dont want to google. [Edited 11/20/05 12:48pm] Space for sale... | |

Eric was the dude at the time. He can blow a saxaphone tunes that Prince can dream of doing.
It is hard to find current information on him on the net and the only thing I can find that he released a jazz album two years ago called "Now and Again". I am not a big jazz fan so maybe someone who is a bigger fan might have better info what he doing now. | |

Eric joining the Revolution was probably the best thing that ever happened to the band since it formed!
His sax playing is just so..... I don't even know the word .... it just fits Prince's music and makes it even better. There are so many examples of this. I remember reading back in the day, Eric said when Sheila was orginally looking for musicians to tour with for Glam Life, he sent her a tape he made with 2 tracks.....1 of the song, and 1 of him playing over it. Sheila had already hired Eddie M but somehow the tape got to Prince and he got hired to be in the Family... which really marked the beginning of the new Prince sound with Eric on Sax. The rest, as they say, is history. I met him briefly after the Family Jamm and told him how much I admired his playing and he was very nice and humble and just seemed like cool guy. his brother is Alan Leeds who was Prince's tour manager for years and I think President of Paisley Park records at one point. | |

I hated it when Eric came aboard. At least he was better than Clare Fischer though. Andy is a four letter word. | |

Prince + Eric Leeds = perfection.
It was an absolute thrill seeing Eric at the 2002 Celebration. I've been a fan since 1993 - totally missing the Parade/SOTT/Lovesexy eras - so I never thought I'd get to see them both on stage together. He told some great stories at the Q&A as well, especially re: The Family and Madhouse. He reminds me of a certain Orger, too, but I'm not saying who. | |

one of my favorite lines from the parade show'86: "break it way down low...ERIC,..gimme some horns" and the saxophone solo he did on "life can be so nice" | |

Eric was Great with Prince. He and Eric had a chemistry that everyone knew and would show in the music they created. Horns on Power Fantastic, Hate U(Quiet Night Mix)and Nothing Compares 2 U was unbelievable musical talent. Eric Leeds is amazin'. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U. | |

----- Your a funk fan and you don't like the sax? Not with Prince. I like individual artists for individual things. For instance, I love synths but I don't care for the way Rick James had them beginning with "Glow". Some things work for some but not for others. . .
