After Jonathan's death, it was an album that W&L needed to get out of their system. its stricking how each of them have dealt with their brother's death. one needed to express what they felt to the world to find peace..the other needed to find themselves to find peace. i think their actions personify their musical genius. such a tragic coincedence for the duo.....im glad they both have seen the light at the end of the tunnel and are living their lives in honor of their brothers..... "ill keep on shining til im gone". Did Lisa lose her brother also or something? or was Jonathan Melvoin like a brother to her? Don't hurt me, I'm a newb. I'm supposed to be stupid.

REVIEW!! REVIEW!!! LOL, I'm currently on Crack in the Pavement. I really like what I'm hearing so far. It's exactly what I wanted. Good recommendation. I think I'll be getting another one soon. OK, I've had my first listen. Very much what I was looking for. Um, I don't really know how to give a good music review, but I'm quite satisfied. Only other things to say is that I think the first half was a bit more memorable than the second, but it was all good. Don't hurt me, I'm a newb. I'm supposed to be stupid.

Yay...I'm allowed to have my opinions in this forum unlike other forums I have been in You are fortunate because I have been penalized on this forum several times for questioning the implied (but never confirmed) greatness of Wendy and Lisa. I will say that the first 2 albums, self titled and Fruit on the Bottom, are excellent and are easily the best work they have done. Both are quite rare and I am sure they are out of print. There is a release called Friendly Fire that is worth seeking out as well - It has the single, "Lolly Lolly according to Prince." [Edited 11/22/05 7:25am]

Lolly Lolly (Accordint to Prince) is a remix which was released via maxi-single in support of Fruit At The Bottom. Friendly Fire was never intended as an album title but was claimed as such by bootleggers. The bulk of the songs consist of unreleased tracks produced by Trevor Horn (Seal, Art Of Noise, Franky Goes To Hollywood). Some versions include film score snippets borrowed from an older version of www.wendyandlisa.com. Others have unreleased live tracks. This is the first i've heard of Lolly Lolly being included. Now as far as voicing your views, sure.....you can. What people object to is when others attempt to claim their opinion as fact. You dont like w&l? Fine. But to discredit someone else's opinion simply because you dont like it? Not fine. and lovemachine's comments were a jab at me personally because i moderate the p&r forum. he gets upset when i have to moderate his posts. Yet when I moderate other posts at his request he never seems to have isssue. Space for sale...

[Edited 11/22/05 7:25am] I am not a huge W&L fan but I don't tell their fans that their taste is wrong but I understand what u mean though. And it's all too familar on here of people bashing other's taste just because they don't like it. It nice to have healthy debates from time to time but arguing over something that is subjective is pointless. I just started to participate more on here for the last few days and myself had been called crazy or my taste been questioned by some ignorant orgers just because I like songs and albums that they don't like. But I am not going to lose asleep over it and hey it just a forum where you can't let people get to you or it can eat you inside. I just say to them well I am going to continue listening to mines and you worry about yours. [Edited 11/22/05 14:09pm]

First side is good, but mixed in style. I'd say for your next pick: if you liked the first two songs most, go back in time to Wendy & Lisa or Fruit at the Bottom. (:: pulls small face at actually recommending the latter : If you prefered tracks 2-5, go forward to Girl Bros. next. -- k
