Prince's father - Miles Davis meeting Funniest part of the Possessed book. Princes father commenting upon meeting Miles about a pair of striped pants that Miles once wore on TV. A protracted discussion occurs between the two, as Miles is insistent that he did not wear, nor does he own a pair of striped pants. Finally these 2 cool cats connect as Miles figures out what pair of pants P's father is talking about, as Prince watches in the background bemused. Made me laugh anyway. merf

I liked that story too. I actually liked the entire book. Most fans don't like it because Prince doesn't always come out smelling like a rose in it. [Edited 10/31/05 9:02am]

Sonofblade, I agree with you P does not come out smelling like a rose, but what true artist does? We are lucky P has not caved in on many of the pratfalls of stardom. He could be a lot worse than a womanizing, control junky he is.
I love his offbeat sense of humor. Some of it reminds me of Andy Kaufman. Sitting in a wheelchair drooling at the airport! The interview with the Minneapolis writer when the band member came in haywire looking for the mayo, tipped the chair of P, cut , end of interview. P was not too afraid too be different and offbeat, not only in his music , but his personal life as well. merf
