so because she hasn't been seen in a while she's supposed
to have been ditched in favor of some other chick? what about other things, like her having her own life and job perhaps and wanting to leave the spotlight to prince? or perhaps she's preggerz and just wants to have their lil un in private without the press jumping on it. who knows. it could be so many things. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Yeah, you people always have to think the worse.
Maybe he just killed her and buried her in the garden

Every couple has their own rules, guidelines and arrangements as far as how a relationship works and anything else, be it other chicks, other guys, splitting up, matrimony, monogamy, polygamy, or whatever, is nobodys business but theirs, especially when it comes to an artist who has always challenged his listeners, his bandmembers, the musicworld, showbiz and society in general.
I´m not saying being an artist gives you the right to fuck up people´s mind but one just can´t apply common standards and expectations to someone else. He´s a rock star after all. But this is in no way meant to criticize the person who started this thread. IMO, the "Mani era" was or still is a VERY fruitful and inspiring, rejuvenating time for Prince, personally and creatively and also businesswise. Susannah Melvoin still gets a lot of praise for having been a good, intellectual and creative influence on Prince, and rightly so, but Manuela doesn´t seem to get the credit she deserves. And as an admirer of his music she seems to understand his body of work which can´t be said of people like Carmen Electra or Kim Basinger or even Mayte, though I´m sure they inspired him too, but on a different level. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

He was good in the Stone Roses but I'm not too keen on his work with Primal Scream!

Great post! and I do agree. I think some people go to the extreme and try to paint a pic of P down in the dumps and Mani single handedly saves him... not! on the other hand others op the complete opposite and say that she had no or negative influence on his music and business decisions. I think it is some where in the middle. P was is and always will create his own music, his own way. I think the change in being more accessible to the press, the award shows and acting more friendly and down to earth (can I say more 'normal') may have had something to do with Mani. I had a fun last year being a Prince fan because of it. Credit due where it is due. "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

How'd this thread get so defensive about Prince and his "muses" ???

IF she had NOT worked her way in, she would be like the rest, over at the npgmc posting how she saving herself

Exactly.....probably asked because you used to always
see them together, then we started to hear of things of him without her, and nothing of her. It was only a ? of her whereabouts in relation to him...[/quote]

Hibernation, Void or Maternal Bliss? Good question! This was the hot topic on the org two months ago...now nothing. What happened to 'legs, before she had a lot to say about this. I never put a lot of thought into Prince's personal life and his women other than thinking that they were beautiful although I've been digging his music for a looooong time. But after learning about this site and reading I can't help but give some thought to the personal side of the man and his family. I bet that it's really hurtful sometimes for his wife to read all the nasty things that so called fans say about her. I'm sure that it's not inspiring to Prince either when he hears so called fans saying the things that they do about his wife. My heart goes out to both of them - especially Mani and I don't even know her.
Some of these posters need to think about what they are saying before posting it. [Edited 10/5/05 2:27am] Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion now accepted was once eccentric.

Actually feel sorry for her... its part of the crap that goes along with being with someone in the public eye. The public will have something to say about anyone standing near the man. The price of fame. it affects those close to him being famous. It should not be that way but it is and anyone getting into a relationship with someone that is famous should acknowlege that fact and live with it. It not that is not being very realistic. Unless they want to be like Mel Gibson. Has anyone ever seen pictures of his family. If one says they want a private life and then put this person out publically is contricting themselves. Either you do want a private life or you don't. Gibson proves it can be done. Mani and her friends put her business out there. ps. I do remember alot of people calling me crazy and bashing me when I said she has a shelf life with him. About a year ago I said this. Smile. Haters. sorry if that was over your head...jump up and try to catch the point next time.

Very correct here except it's not the public ONLY his fans. The public don't care about Prince and his wife You don't see this splattered news all over the Star or other magazines or even entertainment shows as other marriages are. And as far as mel gibson, if he was getting a divorce or separated it would be BIG NEWs! Why feel sorry for Mani? She knew what she was getting into. She had that "look I got him look" all the time. She is no angel. Now, if you ask me who I felt sorry for, it WOULD be Mayte. I really believed she loved him and wanted a family with him, she proved it. It's only when HE wanted out did she move on. And for your information, not all Prince fans are funatics. Not all want him, some appreciate him as a musician and admire his talent. Don't mean they would actually like to marry the guy. I don't know him on a personal basis, how would I want to "win" him if I don't know him? . [Edited 10/13/05 7:31am]
