Stevie Wonder and Howard Stern give props to Prince guitar skills

Stevie was on Stern this morning. They played What the Fuss and Stern mentioned how underrated Prince is as a guitarist. It was funny - but refreshing - to hear that outside of a Prince fan site.

Yeah, Howard has been championing P for years. Howard has said a few times that the song "Purple Rain" is one of his faves by anyone and that the song never fails to make his eyes water up.
SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him."

It was pretty cool. I tuned in by accident. I wish Howard had asked more about P. They were playing Fuss and some asked what P did on the record and Stevie said that he was on guitar. That's when Howard said that he was under-rated as a guitarist. Stevie, said "wait a minute, that's my friend." Robin said that she didn't at all think that people didnt' recognize how good a player he is. She said, "I think people know."

I wanted Howard to continue the subject, but you can't really do that when you have the original musical genius sitting in front of you.

Shucks, if not for Steve back then, Prince probably wouldn't have gotten his record deal, and definitely not with all of the special perks... unheard of back then...
Come here, babe.. yeah...
