Not sure what Gilbert is up to these days,but I know he had a bitter falling-out with Prince in the mid-90s.It was ugly.Sheila E. has said that she was caught in the middle.When she performed at Gilbert's nightclub,Prince didn't allow her to come to Paisley Park anymore.

In november 1988, Me and my friends tried to crash the Lovesexy afterparty at The Ocean club in houston, but we were all under 21 and couldn't get in. There were limos parked out front. white unmarked vans in the back.

We loitered around the back leaning on one van, talking amongst ourselves, and then, because it was so cold, we got in our car a few feet away. Suddenly a light turns on in the van and we see a perfectly clear sillouette of Prince's head with wavy hair. suddenly he gets out of the van with a bodyguard in front and one in back and enters the club from the back door. He was waring a bright yellow sstyle lovesexy suit, and his hair was ponytailed. We were stupidly shouting "great show" and stuff like that. He got out from one of the unmarked white vans. The limos in front were decoys.

So we get out and walk up to the van, the driver is still sittng in it, smoking a cigarette, all cool. We say something stupid like "hey man we just saw prince get out of this van" and he says something like, "whatever." after a while we get back in the car, and then a few minutes later prince comes back out and gets in the van. It drives off and gets mixed up with two other white vans all going in different directions, so that fools like us couldn't follow.

That driver, I believe, was Gilbert based on a pic I saw later...
